7th-Grade Schedule
1 Day Program
Morning
Students will learn to:
-- read a topographic map.
-- “read” the landscape – comparing map to landform.
-- use a compass to orient their map.
-- hike, using trials and cross-country.
Lunch – outside if weather permits
Afternoon
Students will learn to:
-- use the map and compass to find compass bearings for points not visible in the field.
-- do point to point orienteering.
